Vision Statement

Daily Bread’s vision is to ensure everyone has access to the food and services necessary to become self-sufficient.

Mission Statement

Daily Bread’s mission is to provide the dignity and quality of life to the hungry and needy we serve, with daily hot meals and access to hygienic services. Together with community partners we provide food collection, distribution services, and access to social and educational agencies providing clients with the opportunity to become self-sufficient.


The vision was conceived in September 1987 by Diane Hayward, a math and science teacher, and her husband Bob, a program director at Harris Corporation. Daily Bread, Inc. opened its soup kitchen on February 1, 1988.



Dining Facility:

Open to those in need 365 days each year we provide clients with a free nutritionally balanced hot meal from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m


Food Bank Warehouse:

We collect and distribute approximately 755,000 pounds of food each year. The food is use to feed Daily Bread clients and supports other partnering food pantries


Buescher Outreach Center:

We provides clients with services and products to clean themselves and clothing. We provide space to partnering agencies who provide medical and other social services.


Thrift Shop:

The Thrift Shop, situated on the soup kitchens original site, provides a funding stream to assist in supporting Daily Bread’s mission & ministries.
